Christmas Shopping as a Bethany College Student

LINDSBORG, KS-Tis the season, it’s time to Christmas shop! As students begin to refill campus after enjoying their Thanksgiving break, it’s safe to say that many students are already counting down the days until Christmas break. Before you get carried away booking your flight home, or packing up your bags, make sure you make time to get your Christmas shopping done. As a student at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, you really get the best of both worlds. You have the opportunity to shop locally, or you can make a quick drive to Salina or Wichita to accommodate your shopping needs. If you’re looking for a nice gift for mom, dad, brother, sister, grandma, grandpa, boyfriend or girlfriend, you will not be disappointed by the wide array of stores to choose from.

Here in downtown Lindsborg, there are a few small-town shops and boutiques that are perfect for Christmas shopping. The Good Merchant is a great place to shop for anyone! They offer a wide variety of gifts for anyone and every personality. They offer many different items that mix a vintage feel with today’s modern trends. Just down the road is Trollslanda Toy Store. If you are looking for gifts to offer to any younger siblings or cousins this store is perfect for you. They offer board games, toys, stuffed animals, and so much more that would be perfect for that special little one. If you are looking to bring a little bit of Sweden home with you, stop at the Hemslojd to check out their Dala Horses and many other Swedish gifts. Shopping locally is a great way to support the town of Lindsborg and a great way to bring a piece of this special small-town home with you.

If you are looking for larger, brand-name stores, I would suggest that you travel to either Salina or Wichita. If you are more interested in a quick drive to allow more time to shop, I would encourage you to travel to Salina where they have numerous larger outlet stores to choose from. In Salina you can shop from stores like Ulta Beauty, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Target, Hobby Lobby, and many other stores. If you are more interested in a longer Christmas shopping experience, I would suggest you make the drive to Wichita where you can find local small businesses, and large outlet stores. On almost every street corner in Wichita, you can find a store to stop at and Christmas shop.

If you are a last-minute shopper and want to get some Bethany Swedes gear for the family, stop at the Swedes shop in the Pit. They offer Swedes gear for every sport, and you can find sizes for every family member. Not only do they offer the traditional sweatshirt, t-shirts, and sweatpants, but you can also find other Bethany Swede accessories for your car, home, or jewelry collection. You can’t go wrong Christmas shopping at the Swedes shop!

Christmas break will be here before we know it, and there is no worse feeling than making it home empty handed with no Christmas gifts for the people you love.
