Trunk or Treat 2022

BY: Chartez Wiley NOVEMBER 9, 2022 The Bethany Advocate along with a variety of other clubs participated in Lindsborg annual Trunk or Treat this year at Bethany College. There was a huge turnout with over two hundred kids showing up and showing off their costumes. The Student Government Association (SGA) alongside BASS, Undios and the Newton Society were a couple of groups that handed out candy to the children.Wrestling and Volleyball were the two sports that came out as well. The event overall went well and everyone who came out alongside candy got pamphlets and stickers A little synopsis regarding Trunk or Treat, event held October 31 the night of Halloween. Participants in the event Bring their cars to a central location, usually a parking lot. The participants in the trunk or treat decorate the trunks of their cars and create elaborate scenes with a theme. Kids then proceed to walk from vehicle to vehicle, collecting candy as they would during a normal trick or treating outing. The event is offered by a variety of organizations and is considered a safer alternative to trick or treat. Looking at it from the perspective of family, this event brings them closer together. They get the chance to get to know each other better and spend quality time while collecting candy. Trunk or Treat is also a great way for organizations to market themselves. Having the kids walk around, organizations and clubs can also hand out stickers and cards alongside their candy to promote what they have to offer. The Advocate had a spooky themed scary trunk theme. Alongside the decorated trunk were Bethany Advocate stickers promoting the club. Overall the event was a huge success and everyone in Lindsborg got exposed to a variety of clubs and good candy.
