What You Should Wear for Graduation

By: Allison Young May 10th 2022

LINDSBORG KS- Graduation is upon us. Seniors have been cracking down on their studies to end their careers here at Bethany. But, don’t forget your big day seniors! What are you gonna wear under your cap and gown? Don’t worry and don’t stress, I have your back.

Starting with the women here that are seniors. Ladies, it is going to be hot and you know we live in Kansas so plan ahead. Dresses are the way to go. If you want to make it less formal a skirt would be a good idea. Heels, wedges, flats, and sandals are all good options for shoes. If there are some ladies that would like to wear a suit; I would suggest renting a suit instead of buying one to save some money. The same goes with dresses if the dress you are wanting is way out of your price range. There are many local places that can cater to your needs. Princess and Penguin Formal Wear in Salina, KS, and Jim’s Formal Wear in Salina, KS are probably the two most popular.

Moving on to makeup and hair for the ladies. Makeup should probably be the last thing you do when getting ready. The reason for this is so the makeup will last while being outside. For the ladies that need to help prevent oil and sweating, I would suggest a primer, setting spray, setting powder, and some of the oil papers to keep with you in case the oil from your face becomes noticeable in photos. Of course, it is your choice, these are just some products to help out. Now for hair, think about hairspray or making your hair have some volume with dry shampoo. A low bun to keep the hair off your neck is simple and professional. But if you prefer your hair down I totally support it, complete your own look for sure!

Now onto the gentleman. Gentleman if you need a suit you can rent remember that you can rent a suit from places in Salina listed above. If that is too much. Just think about the weather and make sure you dress nicely when walking on that stage and receiving your degree. Maybe avoid flip-flops so you don’t flop all over the stage. Moving forward on to hair. Gentleman, I know yall like to go get that fresh cut and post about it, so take the time and get that cut.

As the year comes to a close. Make sure you leave your mark here at Bethany looking good on May 21st taking your degree and running with it. This year of graduates will be missed. We appreciate you here at Bethany. We hope you have successful years ahead.
